Roadburn – Retrospect 2004

GENEROUS MARIA

Goran:
2004 has been a good year for Generous Maria. It started off with the release of the 7" single "Crawl Back In", followed by a tour in Germany and Holland, which was really cool. We met many kind and funny guys out there, it´s quite unbelievable. We did most of the dates together with 3 Speed Automatic, a great band from Holland and very nice people too. We'll be touring with them in 2005 as well.

Label-wise there's been a bit of a hassle during the year; Abstract Sounds dropped us and we got our album, "Command of the New Rock", back.
Well, the split with Abstract Sounds was a bit of a bummer, but, on the other hand, we got picked up by Buzzville Records, and inked a deal for the re-release of "Command of the New Rock." It'll be the '2005 edition' with four bonus tracks. The album will be out the 17th of January 05. Buzzville Records seems to be a real cool label so we´re happy.

We´ve also started the recording of what is tend to be the second album of Generous Maria. In November we went to a cottage out in the middle of nowhere, brought our stuff and stayed there for a few days, doing nothing but building a temporary studio and recording. No distractions, just great. Just music and some serious beer-drinking.

Right now we're tracking guitar and vocals. The album, yet untitled, will be out sometime during 2005. And, hey, we've moved our internet home to
www.generousmaria.com.
