Generous Maria-'Command of the New Rock' 2002.

Vannak olyan zenekarok, amiknek, ha a képeire tekintünk, rögtön vágjuk, hogy milyen zenei stílusban mozognak. Ilyen a Generous Maria is, akikrõl elsõ pillantásra beugrott egy-két név a 70-es évekbõl.
Ha nem tudnám, hogy mikor készült a fotó akkor akár egy 72-es zenei almanachból is lehetne. Például a Göran Florström, Robert Plant párhuzam letagadhatatlan.

A 70-es évek legendáit nem csak kinézetükben, hanem zenéjükben is felfedezhetjük. A kvintett zenei gyökerei a Zeppelinig és a Sabbathig nyúlnak vissza. De inkább a Zeppelin szellemisége van jelen bennük. Nem annyira bluesos, mint inkább pszichdelekius a zenéjük. A hangzásra nem lehet panasz. Retrósitott mélyen dörmögõ basszusok, élõ dob sound és koszos csöves gitárok jellemzik a ’Command of the New Rock’ lemezt. A mai bandák közül a Monster Magnet és a Kyuss (R.I. P.) nevei ugrottak be, de az énekes hangjában a Trouble párhuzam is jelen van néhol. És szerintem nem is áll olyan messze a Generous Maria pszichedelikus muzsikája a mesterekétõl. Számomra egységesen erõs minden nóta, kiemelni nehéz is lenne közülük akár egyet is.
Ha utána tekintünk a zenekar munkásságának, akkor a bemutatkozó lemez elõtt találunk, egy Split cd-ét közösen a Skua-val. Aki ezzel az anyaggal kedvelte meg a bandát jogosan várhatta a folytatatást. Mert a négy számot tartalmazó korongot hallgatva olyan dologra talált, amire ritkán ebben a mûfajban.
Lehet, hogy nem õk az úttörõi ennek a mûfajnak, de mindenképpen figyelemre méltó, amit itt összehoztak. Nagyon rá lehet kattanni a cuccra. Tartós függõséget okozhat.
Ja és azon már meg sem lepõdtem, hogy Svédek a srácok.

There are such an orchestras looking at their photos immediately we can predict their style. Such orchestra is Generous Maria, from which one or two names drop in from the seventies.
If I did not knew when the photo was taken, the source could be a musical almanach from 72. For example the parallelism of Göran Florström and Robert Plant cannot be denied.

We can discover the legends of seventies not in their appearance but in their music as well. The music roots of the quintette go back to the Zeppelin and Sabbath. But rather the mentality of Zeppelin’s dominates in them. Their music is characterised by rather psychedelic than blues actions. There cannot be complaint to their sound. The „Command of the New Rock” record is characterized by retrograde, deep basses, living drum sound and guitars with dirty pipes. From the names of todays’ bands the Monster Magnet and Kyuss (R.I.P.) dropped in, but in the sound of the singer the parallelism of the Trouble is present in somewhere. And the psychedelic music of Generous Maria is not far from that of the masters, on my opinion. For me, all the songs are uniformly strong, it would be difficult to emphasize any one of them.
If we looking for back to the activity of the orchestra, it may be found a Split CD together with the Skua before the introducing record. If some, containing the four songs, it may be found such a thing, which is very rare nowadays in this form (genre).
It may be, that they are not the pioneesrs of this form (genre), but it is remarkable what they did. It may be click on them and , they may cause lasting dependence. And I was not surprised at all, that the guys are Swedish.
