Neo-ZineGenerous Maria “Command Of The New Rock” CD (Abstract Sounds / POB 41084/ Phila, PA 19127 candlerocks@aol.com) Stoner rock fused with the Black Sabbath sludge and velvety dark vocals sounding a bit like The Cult. Prime stuff, a bit nostalgic sounding, but still good. Very chunky and thick viscous sound that is difficult to dislodge from or shake off. Banging bluesy toughness, not too ferocious or evil. Easily playable on a classic rock station. As a bar band, these guys would blow the doors off of any place. Nice recording quality. Cool cartoon art on the cover insert (gorillas.) Excellent for those smokey, hipster, loner days.
